At 4:45 around 1.5 million German troops invaded Poland, August 23, 1939. This wasnt a small attack. This happened over a 1,750 mile border! This attack was not just a land attack, it also was an attack at sea. German U-boats attacked polish naval forces. -
Fall of Paris
German attack paris, but by time they got there 2 million paris people had already fleed. The germans controlled the town with little effort. -
Pearl Harbor
Around 8 in the morning Japanese fighter planes attack the United States naval base. This attack only lasted 2 hours; however would have lasting effects. This attack destored 20 naval vessels, 8 were huge ships! More than 2,000 American soilders died in this attack! This would later result in the United States declaring war on Japn. -
Wannsee Conference
There was a meeting "final solution". This was Nazi trying to kill the whole Jewish race! Euope would be combined with jews from East to West! They would work in hard conditions and most would die of hard labor and starvation! -

The day after japan bombed peral harbor they attack the phillipeans. US jeneral surrendors his 75,000 troops. It wasnt a hard battle but the march itself was so bad. -

Only 6 months after the attack of pearl harbor, the United States beats japan. This was one of the most damaging battles of world war II. It was about pide for the United States, we wouldnt just stay down. -
Battle of Stalingrad
Was a successful defenseive by the solivet troops. This was the greatest battle considered by the russians. This was one of the bloodest battles in history! -
D-Day
More than 160,000 Allied troops landed on the french coastline. It was about a 50 mile stretch. More than 9,000 Allied soliders died in this invasion! The cost of lives were huge! -
Liberation of concentration camps
Solviet soliders were the first to be liberated in concentration camps. Later overran many other killing centers. These places were not pleasent and many people died in these camps. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
This was a major battle! The United States marines would land on Iwo Jima, and eventaully take it over! We did this against the japanese. -
VE Day
This is the Victory of Europe Day. This was made a holiday on may 8, 1945. Nazi German surrender of its armed forces. This was an amazing day, and a step forward to ending the war. -
Dropping of the atomic bombs
United States B-29 fighter plans dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshma. This instantly killed 80,000 people. 3 days later we dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. This one killing 40,000. -
VJ Day
This was the day the news was announced to the world of the serrender. Later on September 2 a formal serrender happened. This was announced a VJ day -
Battle of the Bulge
Hitler tried to split the allied armies in northwest Europe. This caught America off gaurd. Germans pushed deeper and deeper trying to capture bridge heads, but the American wouldnt bulge. This is how the battle got its name.
