    The invasion of Poland by Germany and the Soviet Union, started world war 2. Hitler attacked from land and air. He wanted to rule Poland because it was a territory Germany had lost. The poland battles showed Hitlers new strategy called the blitzkrieg. It uses lots of mechanized weapons and fast speed.

    Pearl Harbor was a surprise torpedo attack by the Japanese on a base in Hawaii. America entered the war the same day. America lost 33 ships and 170 airplanes.

    Hitler commited suicide in an underground bunker which eventually led to the end of the third reich. The end of the third reich ended world war II, causing Germany to surrender to the allies. After six years of war, world war II was over. The germans signed different treaties with different countries.

    The United Nations replaced the league of nations. Their mission is to "preserve peace through international cooperation and collective security." The reason they were created right after world war II, was because they wanted to prevent another situation or war like world war II.

    An American B-29 bomber dropped the first atomic bomb to be ever used. It was dropped on Hiroshim. After, an atomic bomb was dropped on the city of nagasaki. About 150,000 people died immediatley. Lots of Japanese territories were destroyed. The bombs gave of radiation which caused issues in the years to come.
