Japan invaded Manchuria, it was a area of abundent natrual resource. Japan attacked the Chinese who defended their land. This started the second Sino Japanese War. The Japanese slaughtered the Chinese killing 10 to 20 million civilains. The U.S., Britain and France all aided the Chinese, and theSoviet Union, and Germany aided the Japanese. Nanking The Japanese Imperial Army invaded Nanking with orders to kill the final line of Chinese soldiers. After killing over 90,000 soldiers the Japanese murdered 300,000 to 600,000 civilians. They raped all the women and slaughtered children. -

Bataan Death March
Bataan March After the U.S. surrender of the Bataan Peninsula, the 70000 Filipino and American troops were forced to make a 65 mile march. The troops were treated harshly and they marched through terriable conditions like intense heat. Many soldiers didnt even make it all 65 miles to the prison camps. Many of these soldiers died. -
Battle of the Midway
MidwayThis was a sea battle fought over Naval bases. The Japanese made a planned ambush but the United States decoded the attack and countered the Japanese defeating the Japanese. This was a major win for the United States. -

The Warsaw uprising lasted a month of fighting the Jews used small cache weapons. After the fighting the Nazi's destroyed the great synagugue of Warsaw. -

The Germans who defended the region fought a long battle but by the end the Allie troops took control of all of northern France. This attacked was extensivly planned and they were ready for this attack it took months to plan and to get supplies ready. D-Day was called the beginning of the end of WW2. -

Battle of Iwo JimaIwo Jima was defended by 23000 Japanese army, and navy troops. They fought in caves, dugouts, and underground instillations. Despite the conditions the marines wipped the Japanese out after a month of fighting. -
Battle of Okinawa
OkinawaThis was the last large battle of World War 2. The Allies with 287000 to the Japanese 130000. Japan lost 77000 troops after 82 days. Due to the decline of troops the Japanese became desperate. They used kamikaze attacks and also used their last largest battleship. -
VE Day
VEGreat Britian and the United States celebrated victory in Europe. They defeated the Nazi powers and ended the war in Europe. Almost all German forces surrendered on this day this was the end of fighting so there was celebrations in the streets and all across cities of Europe. -

The soviet Union was the first to liberate these camps in July 1944 they entered the Majdenak camp in Poland. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bombs

Battle of the Bulge
Battle of BulgeThe Battle of the Bulge was Hitlers attempt to split the allie armies in half. This suprise blitzkrieg through the Ardennes caught the allied soldiers of gaurd and they fought desperate battles. As the Germans drove deeper the rise of a Bulge, the successful menouvering by Genral Patton proved to be vital to the allies success.
