    World War 1 (1914-1918) Timeline

The First World War of 1914-1918 was the bloodiest conflict in Canadian history. The war introduced slaughter on a massive scale and fear of foreign military involvement. The great achievements of Canadians on the battlefield such as Vimy and Passchendaele, however, aroused a sense of national pride and confidence that Canada can stand on its own. The date July 28, 1914, marked the beginning of the country’s progression and regression in the economical, political, and social sectors.
