  • King Philips War

    King Philip was the leader of the native american population. He was taking more and more land from the colonists and forcing the colonists to live by his laws. The war started in 1675, because a Native American Indian named Sassamon,wwas murdered after switching to Christianity. The war lasted until 1675 with many deaths on both sides and the colonists as the victors.
  • Queen Anne's War

    Queen Anne’s war began in 1702 and continued on for eleven more years. Many German states also fought against France and Spain. This war took over most of Queen Anne’s reign. The French and Indians killed many women and children. In 1711, the combination of British and New England made a win of Quebec. A man named Nicholson became Governor of Nova Scotia in 1712. The treaty of Utrecht ended the the war in 1713.
  • King Georges War

    The original name of King Georges war Was the War of Austrician Succession. The War of Jenkin’s Ear which started in 1739 and ended in 1743 was also a big part of the problem that caused King Georges War. The treaty of Utrecht was the reason that the war started in the first places due to the fact that people weren’t following the rules of it.
  • American Revolution

    It began in 1775 with the thirteen colonies and Great Britain. From the Treaty of Paris, the colonies had won their freedom. As with many wars, disagreement between Great Britain and the colonies began. Americans thought they deserved the same rights as the British. The war between the thirteen colonies and Great Britain ended in 1776.
  • The Quasi-War: America's First Conflict

    There was a disagreement over treaties and Americas status as being neutral in the French Revolution Wars. It was an undeclared war between France and the U.S. This war was called the Quasi-War. The war came to an end in 1800 with attitudes shifting and the problems being solved with the Treaty of Mortefrontaine.
  • Barbary War: Battle of Derna

    During the First Barbary war the Battle of Derna took place. On April 27, 1805, William Eaton and First Lieutenant Presley O’Bannon captured Derna. These men successfully defended Derna on May 13th.
  • War of 1812

    The United States declared war in 1812 on Britain. The Americans didn’t approve of impressment and wanted to put an end to it. This is also the war where Francis Scott Key wrote “THe Star Spangled Banner,” which became the national anthem. Later in 1814 Britain and the U.S. signed a peace treaty.
  • War of Texas Independence

    The Mexican government stops Americans from going into Texas in 1830. The war of Texas independence begins in 1835 with the battle of Gonzales. Seven days later, the Battle of Goliad happens which ends in a win for Texas. Texans were trying to sign a new constitution into the same government that was beginning in the other parts of the United States. This ended in 1836.
  • Mexican American War

    There was Mexican resentment towards the United States’ annexation of Texas with a border dispute. Although it was the only major dispute between the two nations it caused a conflict. When the war ended Mexico was forced to give up its northern and western territories.
  • Spanish-American War

    This war began in 1898 from something that happened in Havana harbor. An explosion happened in the boiler room of the USS Maine that caused 250 American sailor deaths. The explosion was an accident, but the public became angry and that caused the country to go to war due to the fact that they thought it was Spanish sabotage.
  • Korean War

    The war began in 1950 between North Korea, China, and American-led United Nations forces and ended in 1953. This war led to a large increase in Cold War tensions and more than 36,000 Americans were killed. President Dwight Eisenhower signed an armistice on July, 1953 bringing the war to an end.
  • Bay of Pigs

    On April in 1961 the united states government helped Cuban exiles to attempt to overthrow Fidel Castro and assault Cuba. They didn’t approve of the communist government he had. They were well prepared, but when they landed they didn’t know what they were up against and failed. This also led to an increase of Cold War tensions.
