    On september 7th, 1533, in Greenwich, England one of the greatest monarchs of all time was born. This great monarch's name was Elizabeth I, daughter of King Henry VIII and his wife Anne Boleyn. Both the king and his wife had hoped Elizabeth would be a boy, so that England would have an heir after King Henry died (McGraw-Hill 565).

    On september 30th, 1601 Queen Elizabeth I gave her golden speech saying, "‘It is not my desire to live or reign longer than my life and reign shall be for your good. The people who were there would never forget this speech, as they had thought that it would be the last time that Elizabeth spoke to them (britannica.com).

    On March 24th, 1603, at the at the age of 70 the great "Virgin Queen" is bested by blood poisoning, and meets her demise. Elizabeth ruled England for 44 years. She undoubtedly left the great nation better than when she received it (history.com 1).
