first rehersal.
towards the end of the day we were put intp the studio in our chosen groups and began to work on our chosen cover song to find our bearings and know what to achieve in the next available rehearsal time. -
Period: to
start to finish
-
continued with GC1 and GC2
after having some time previously to work on GC1 section of the worksheet i moved on to proceed with the GC2 section to a considerable more amount of detail in more writing as the questions asked became more involved in the actual recording process. -
assignment hand in for GC1 and GC2
we had a final lesson to finish of the GC1 and GC2 worksheet before handing in to get marked on the finished product which also includes this timetoast timeline. we will then be rehersing before the initial recordings for the next week. -
learning about compression, noise gates and equalisation
To ensure that each group will create a good quality recording for each other we have been given an introduction to various tools than can help us improve the recordings dramatically by reducing the unwanted sounds and reducing the dynamic range of sounds by using compressors, noise gates and balancing, taking away or adding EQ. -
starting to record the chosen song and aim to complete by the 24th feb
after having a previous reheasal on the 26th we feel confident enough to start to record each individual intstrument. we will start by doing a rough guitar track to form a basis that our drummer can play to, so we are confident about the timings so that the rest of band can play to a good and confident ability. taking into account that setting up will take a while i feel confident to say the rough guitar track and drums will be finsihed. we plan to carry out recordings from now till the 24th feb -
recording finished and mixed to be assesed before and some time after half term.
in the time we were alocated from the 3rd of february we have finsihed recording all the instrument tracks and now we each have a file of the finsihed product ready to EQ and mix by doing what we have previously learning about from now and we have two sessions to do so which is the 10th and 17th march to complete untill the 30th of march were we will be ready to hand in the final product to get marks and also finished with various assignments than are included in the project. -
starting to mix the recorded tracks
from using what we have preiviously been taught about which was knowing how to EQ, using compression and noise gates we will mix the tracks in this session and we will have only one more on the 17th to do so. -
finished mixing the recorded tracks
we will have finished mixing the recorded product on this date. -
handing in the finsihed product on the deadline day.
today we will be handing in the finished product to be marked and we will recieve any feedback upon being assesed and we can apply re-submissions if we need to.
