The women in the first nations were very important to their society, and culture. They took care of the children, and took care of where they lived (the lodge). They were also hunters. They didnt hunt the bigger animals, they left that for the men. The women just unted smalled animals such as rabbits, birds, etc. The women were also harvesters. They harvestes roots, fruit, nuts, rice, etc. -

The women had the poltical power to elect village and tribal leaders in New France. Most women did not read or write, wich made it difficult to record what their life was like back then. We know that the women had specific jobs, such as weaving, clothes production and repair, and sewing. -
