Civil war starts
The Civil war starts in the United States. Over the objections of Susan B. Anthony, women put aside suffrage activities to help the war effort. Legit. these 2 events help get supporters and help get the movement really started and to become a serious event -
Women put on the backburner
Fifteenth amendment passes Congress, giving the vote to black men. Women petition to be included but are turned down.
In New Jersey, 172 women attempt to vote but their ballots are ignored.

Womens sufferage Parade
Women's Suffrage parade on the eve of Wilson's inauguration is attacked by a mob. Hundreds of women are injured. -
NWP
Alice Paul and Lucy Burns orgainized the National Womens Party. -
White House
The NWP started picketing the white House. Soon after they started picketing WW1 started. -
Tennesse Votes Yes
Tennesse votes yes to let women vote. 50 out of the 99 people voted yes. This makes the 19th admendment possible. Institutionalization because it is finished and the women won the vote.
