    William Golding was born on September 19 1911. He was born in Cornwall, England. Golding was not a nice kid, and often bullied other students. He unsuccesfully tried to write a book when he was 12.

    Golding started teaching in 1935. He taught Philosophy and English. He wrote his book, Lord of the Flies, after the bad kids in his classes.

    He left teaching English and Philosophy to go into the Royal Navy. He fought for 6 years and found his love for sailing.
  • Lord of the Flies

    Golding published Lord of the Flies in 1954. It took 21 rejections to get published.
