After going to college for being a teacher, he began to work at Bishop Wordsworth's school in Salisbury. He taught English and Philosophy. -
The Royal Navy & WW2
Golding temporarily abandoned his teaching career to serve in the Royal Navy. He fought in the battle of World War 2. -
End of the War
He had a lifelong love for the sea and sailing after the war. But when he came back home, he went back to his normal routine and taught once again. -
Publishing his book
AFter many rejections, 21 to be exact, Golding was finally able to publish his Novel "Lord of the flies" -
Retirement
Ftaer many many years of teaching, he eventually retired. -
Nobel prize

The Passing Away.
Sadly, on June 19, 1993 William Golding's life was taken by a heart attack. His life was filled with many great accomplishments, those that continue to be recognized today.
