    He attended Brasenose College at Oxford University. His father had high hopes that he raised a scientist, but the boy went on to realize his love for literature. Before he graduated he even wrote and published his first book. It was called poems. It never got the attention to become famous (bio.com).

    Within one year William recieved a job teaching at Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury. He thought of it like following in his father's foot steps. During this time he faced much hardship with the students.

    During World War II, he was actually in control of many important aspects such as the boats and rockets. Golding has said, “I began to see what people were capable of doing. Anyone who went through the years without understanding that man produces evil as a bee produces honey, must have been blind...” Like his teaching experience, Golding’s participation in the war would prove to be fruitful material for his fiction.     The novel, Lord of the Flies received 21 rejections before being accepted. The book is about boys stranded and having to figure out what to do. The book signifies that the boys have to choose good verses evil. In 1963 Peter Brook made a film adaptation of the lord of the flies. In 1990 a new film version of the Lord of the Flies was released to seem more attractive to the newer generation (bio.com).
