Santa Fe Trail
Founded on September of 1821 by Wlliam Becknell
Trail went from Missouri to New Mexico
This trail was originally used as a trade route but was later used as a way of invasion during the Mexican-American War. -
Old Spanish Trail
This trail parted off from the Santa Fe trail and split in two. It led to an area that is now included in preasent-day Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. This trail was not only a trade route but was also used during the Mexican war. -
Southern Emigrant Trail
The Southern Emigrant Trail was a connection between the Santa Fe Trail and California. This trail crossed southern Arizona territory. This was also known as a primary east-west route until the railroads were constructed. -
California Trail
This trail was founded and used in 1840. It purpose was to get to California during the Gold Rush. -
Oregon Tail
The Oregon Trail was founded in the early 1840's. It traveled from Missouri to Oregon and was used by migrants, fur-trappers, and traders. It is estimated to be about 2,200 miles long. -
Mormon Trail
This trail was founded in February of 1846. I was used for the mormons after their expulsion from Illinois. It lead to the Great Salt Lake basin in present-day Utah.
