A Teritory owned by France. But France was in a war and wars are expensive. So the president Went over and gave france a deal. $15 million for this land and they said yes. Now we call it Luisiana purches which dubbled the size of the U.S.. Now when the president made that deal the citizens were mad because the president does not have the power to buy land him self so they looked at him as a "king". -
