    The Lewis and Clark expedition started in 1804 and ended in 1806. They crossed what is now the western portion of the United States. They were hero's to America.

    Florida Become U.S. State
    Florida was acquired by the United States in 1819. Florida was bought by the United states for zero dollars. Andrew Jackson was sent from the United States to stop the raids on Georgia but instead went over with an army of 1,800 and killed many and took over the Spanish territory.

    The Indian Removal Act was signed into place in 1830. The act said that "anyone who was Indian, shall be forced out of their land. This led to the Trail Of Tears.

    Trail Of Tears

    The Trail of Teers was forced by Andrew Jackson's revolt against Florida. "Jackson's Indian removal policy, the Cherokee nation was forced to give up its lands east of the Mississippi River and to migrate to an area in present-day Oklahoma."
    All homes were lost and 4,000 Cherokee people died of cold, hunger, and disease on their way to the western lands (Google).

    The Mexican-American War was from 1846-1848. It was marked the first U.S. conflict. They did this because of the manifest destiny. The manifest destiny was to spread across the continent (MEXICAN-AMERICAN WAR).

    Transcontinental Railroad Completed in 1869. The Transcontinental Railroad was 2,000 miles long. The rail road went from Nebraska to California.
