    This is the process of large amounts of people colinizing in an area to build big cities. This was common on the Westward expansion because millions were moving out west for a better life. The massive amounts of people settled in areas where big cities are now.

    This can simply be described as the development of industries in the US on a massive scale. Industrialization took place a lot in this time period because new cities were being developed because of the western migration.

    This was the process of americans moving out west. It was the belief that god wanted america to get all land from coast to coast and nothing would stop them.

    Suffrage is described as a movement to gain the right to vote in politics. This took place a lot in the 1900's and late 1800's. Specifically with women, they wanted the right to vote, hence why it was called the Women's Suffrage Movement.

After finding land, they had to pay a small fee and stay there for five years to prove that they can improve and prosper. After time was up, if they succeeded, they had ownership of the land.

    This was the name given to American writers in this time period. They were commonly described as any writer who wrote before the world war with reform literature style. Sometimes they were seen as the people who publish misdeeds of America like Upton Sinclair with "The Jungle".

    Was an american writer who wrote over 100 books in several genres. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Wrote a very popular and significant book called "The Jungle".

    This was an amendment against alcohol. This amendment made it illegal to make, sell, or drink alcohol in any way. This was because of the abolition movement.

    This was a bribe that took place in the Wyoming area. President Harding granted Sinclair rights to an oil reserve in Teapot Dome, Wyoming that did not belong to him. The oil company lost over $200,000 and all earned was ruled illegal money and Harding was sent to prison.
