A group of American pioneers led by George Donner and James F. Reed who set out for California in a wagon train. They were delayed by series of mishaps and spent the winter snowbound in the Sierra Nevada mountains. They suffered form the cold and hunger. No food led to cannibalism. -
Marcus and Narcissa Whitman
Marcus Whitman was a physician and missionary. He and his wife Narcissa offered religious instruction and medical services to the Cayuse Indians. But when a measles epidemic broke out and started killing indians, the indian blamed them for it and so were killed. -
