    Heisenberg's Quantum Mechanics Theory
Werner Heisenberg is a well-known quantum physicist and philosopher who developed and proposed a quantum mechanics theory on the position and momentum of electrons. In the 1920's, the idea was that there was an established orbit of electrons around a nucleus. Heisenberg believed that the orbit of an electron could not be truly measured. He began doing research on the properties that could actually be observed such as the light emitted by electrons. This leads into his "matrix" theory.

    The Matrix Theory
Using his observations on the spectrum of light being emitted or absorbed by atoms, he was able to develop a model that took the form of matrices. This would indicate that the momentum and position of electrons moved on a matrix-shaped plane. The matrix idea was supported by the observable properties of the electron.
