Heisenberg Uncertainty Priciple
Prof.Heisenberg came up with the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle in 1927.This principle was a breakthrough in atomic physics. His thoughts were by measuring a system, we impact it by simply observing it. The uncertainty principle simply says that we can't ever simultaneously know the exact position and speed of an object at a given time, due to particles can also be measured as waves.

Uranium Project
In 1939 Heisenberg was drafted into the Uranium Project in Germany. He was the leading figure in wartime fission research. Here the Germans wanted to find out "whether the energy from splitting Uranium nuclei by neutrons could be used for technical and military purposes". (Cornell). The project was later dropped in 1942 due to extremely high costs of doing so. Source: Cornell University, https://arxiv.org/abs/1609.02775

Mainau Declaration
On July 15, 1955 Heisenberg and several other Nobel prize recipients signed the Mainau Declaration. This declaration was in regards to the use of nuclear weapons and stated "All nations must come to the decision to renounce force as a final resort. If they are not prepared to do this, they will cease to exist.-Mainau/Lake Constance,15July1955" (Lindau) Source: http://www.mainaudeclaration.org/about
