    Hendrick Hudson Board of Education. v. Rowley,

    A deaf girl by the name of Amy Rowley went to a school named Furnace Woods. She was refused an interpreter. Amy was great at lip reading and she even got good grades from lip reading but her grades could have been better if she would have had an interpreter. Amy's parents sued the school for Amy's right for a violation of the Education of All Handicapped Children Act of 1975. Amy won her court case she made good grades but she could have done even better if she had an interpreter.
