INFORMATION ABOUT HITLER'S FIGURE (1889-1945)
He was the top leader of Nazi Germany. After being appointed chancellor in 1933, he liquidated the democratic institutions of the republic and established a one-party dictatorship (the Nazi party), from which he repressed all opposition and promoted propaganda at the service of his ideas: superiority of the Aryan race, nationalist exaltation , revanchist militarism and anti-communism.

BEGINNING OF THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR
The Spanish Civil War began when the generals Mola and Franco started an uprising to overthrow the democratically elected Republic. In rural areas with a right-wing political presence, they generally won. They quickly assumed political power. In other areas, particularly in cities with leftist policies, the revolts met with strong opposition.

END OF THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR
Ending almost three years of conflict, the civil war between the republican side and the revolted side (formed by the Spanish Falange and other conservative groups), ended on April 1, 1939 with the victory of the national side with General Francisco Franco to the head.

BEGINNING OF FRANQUISMO
After his victory in the Civil War, Franco imposed a military dictatorship in which all democratic freedoms were eliminated.
The 1931 Constitution was annulled, elections were banned and Republican institutions were dismantled.
Franco became the head of the only political party: the Falange.
Franco held the title of Caudillo and had absolute power. He was head of state and military.

THE BEGINNING OF WORLD WAR II
The instability created in Europe by the WWI set the stage for another international conflict which broke out two decades later.
A state of total war emerged, involving more than 100M people from more than 30 countries. On Sept. 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland; two days later, France and Britain declared the war, beginning WWII.

ATOMIC BOMBING IN JAPAN (AUGUST 6 & 9, 1945)
The United States detonated two nuclear weapons over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945, respectively. The two bombings killed between 129,000 and 226,000 people. The Allies prepared for a very costly invasion of Japan. This undertaking was preceded by a conventional and firebombing campaign which devastated 67 Japanese cities.

END OF WORLD WAR II
World War II ended in Europe with the unconditional surrender of Germany in May 1945.
In the East, the war ended when Japan surrendered unconditionally on August 14, 1945, signing their surrender on September 2. The Japanese surrender occurred after the United States dropped the atomic bombs.

END OF FRANQUISMO
On the morning of November 20, 1975, the President of the Government, Carlos Arias Navarro, announced on television the death of the "Caudillo" and then read his last message, the so-called political testament of Franco.
The funeral chapel was installed in the Palacio de Oriente of Madrid.
This was the end of Franquismo.

It is estimated that currently there are around 25 conflicts and wars, mainly found in Africa and South America, that affect millions of people, threatening their quality of life and health, as they cause economic crises, famines and displacement. From 1990 until nowadays, some of them still remain.
