  • Massacre at Sand Creek

    U.S army commander said- "I want no peace till the Indians suffer more" He took his troops and descended on the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribe and attacked at dawn and killed almost 150 inhabitants which were mostly women and children
  • Death on Bozeman Trail

    A trail that ran through the Sioux Indians hunting ground. Sioux chief wanted to end white settlement that took place on the trail. The warrior Crazy Horse then ambushed Caption William J. Fetterman and his company at a lodge and the Indians killed over 80 soldiers

    This is where the Sioux agreed to live on a reservation along the Missouri River and was forced on the leaders of the Sioux Tribe

    Gold Rush

    Miners have begun searching for Gold in the Black Hills. The Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho protested the mining on their land.
  • Custer's Last Stand

    Sioux tribe and Cheyenne held a Sun Dance. Sitting Bull had a vision of some soldier falling off their Horses. Custer led a battle with Crazy Horse and sitting bull. Their spears and rifles outflanked Custer and within an hour Custer and his troops were dead
  • The Dawes Act

    This act was passes by congress to "Americanize" The Native Americans. The act broke up reservations and gave a little bit of the reservation land to the Natives. About 160 acres to each Indian The seventh Cavalry slaughtered as many at 300 unarmed Natives and left their corpses to freeze. That act was known as the battle of Wounded Knee.
  • Battle of Wounded Knee

    Custors old regiment went and gathers the hungry and freezing Indians and took them to a wounded knee camp in South Dakota. Then they order the Natives to give up their weapons. Then a shot was fired but its not known which side it came from and the soldiers opened with a deadly cannon.
