Britain Started to Impress American Sailors
Britain was impressing American sailors so that they could work for them. It was one of the reasons that the War of 1812 happened. It was also the cause of the Embargo Act. I knew about this already so I didn't need to look up anything.

    The Embargo Act of 1807
The Embargo Act was to prohibit American ships from trading with foreign countries. It was a type of punishment for the British because they were interfering with American trade. Things didn't turn out so well for both countries later on. America Declared War
America declared war because Britain wouldn't stop interfering with America's trade with France. The Britsh's enemy was France and they didn't like that America was trading with them. They started to impress American sailors which caused America to declare war. I got this information from remembering the notes I took on the videos that were listed for the lesson.

  • The Battle of New Orleans

    The Battle of New Orleans
It was the very last war of the War of 1812. It is considered one of America's most significant victories. It meant that America was free from Great Britain retaking control. It also made General Andrew Jackson famous and a hero. He ends up being President later on. I didn't look any of this information up because I remember this since 8th grade. I learned about the Battle of New Orleans last year, so I knew enough information to write it.
