    America Declared neutrality between Great Britian and France. British decided to continue stealing American ships. But instead of letting American sailors return to America they would seize them and make them service in the war they had with France, forcfully.

    It was an offical declarationg of a neutral relationship ith France and Great Britian. Since Washingtion along with the nation wanted to avoid getting involved in the war between France and Britain.

    The jay treaty was an agreement between Britian and The United States that would let America build a sound national economy, along with assuring commericial prosperity. It also allowed American indians to freely travel across the international boundary. This treaty was alos important because Britian agree to pay back the ships they had stolen from America. Along with Britian later on agreeing to remove themself from Northwest territory.

    Washington decided to write a Farewell address near the end of his presidental terms. He had two main messages in his address, which are: Warning Americans on how dangerous political parties are/can be, Along with remaining neutral to foreign conflicts and celebrate their achievements. He also mentioned how the nation should stay united.

    Jefferson tried to issue a proclamation order agaist British warships so they would leave American waters. British refused and just impressed more American sailors. So to resolve this problem and not get involved in war America decided to pass the Embargo Act stating that they would not trade with any nation, including Britan and France. Ecomoically it was a negative hit since they needed outside resources.

    Chesapeake-Leopard Affair
    This affair was a naval situation off the coast of Norfolk, Virginia. Leopard crew pursued, Attacked and invaded American frigate, looking for deserters fron the Royal Navy. Chesepeake was caught of guard and after just one shot the commander of Chesapeake(James Barron) surrendered to the British. This all started because british wanted to search the ship for deserters and James Barron refused this request thinking is was kind of out of place.

    War hawks were usually younger Congressmen who were from southern and western states. They desired for James Madison to go to war with Britain( war of 1812). What prompted their desire was westward expansion. Despite resistance from Indigenous people they still wanted to go west. A notable leader was Henry Clay who became the spokesperson for the spokesperson for the Warhawks.

    Tecumseh was a well repected leader, powerful cheif, and a gifted orator. Tecumseh was angered by how the U.S. was expanding it's territoy which made him reluctantly form an Indian alliance in the Narthwest Territory with Britian to fight the U.S. back together. He then did in action but his death caused his confederacy to collapse. In simple words the alliance fell apart once he pasted which forced British to retreat and eventually would ended the War of 1812.

    The Hartford Convention ware secret meetings in Hartford, Connecticut. Party delagates discussed a debation on secesstion whic they eventually just rejected. Instead they drafted constitutional amendments that strenths state controls over commerce and militias.

    Amercan and British negoatitors had "talks" in Europe, at first British was done talking and they wernt't at a mutal agreement until later events when they agree to sign the Treaty of Ghent. The Treaty of Ghent was to restore conquest, commission to settle boundary argument, along with cessation of hostilities. Yet this treaty was pointless because the nation was unaware of the settlement they had came through.

    This battle was The United States greates land victory during the War of 1812. Britian didnt gain control of important American ports along with elevating Maj. Gen. Andrew Jackson to fame. This war also marked the state's political relation into the Union. Britian also had to recognize the U.S. claims to Louisiana and West Florida. They also decided to ratify the Treaty of Ghent.
