Hulls Proclamation
William Hull's attempt to capture Canda (first of three failed attempts) fails and he is forced to surrender in Fort Michilimackinac. He attempted to gain help from Canada to fight the British, this proclamation backfired and he ended up giving up Detroit to the British. -
Siege of Detriot
Sir Isaac Brock, a commander of forces in upper Canada, led the British troops to victory a against US by becoming allies with the Native Americans under their leader Tecumseh; causing William Hull to surrender.

Raisin River Massacre
A branch of Kentucky troops,commanded by General Winchester, were set to drive the British from Frenchtown. The American troops surrendered to British Colonel Henry, after being captured by the British and Indians. American survivors are killed the following day in the Raisin River Massacre.

Laura Secord
A Canadian Heroine who was married to James Secord. He was wounded in battle. She had overheard a conversation in which the Americans were going to surprise the British at Beaver Dams. She delivered the message herself by walking around the Americans troops about 20 miles to warn the British forces of the impending American attack.

Battle of Thames
The British abandonded Detroit and crossed into Canada with 600 Indians under Chief Tecumseh. British General Proctor and many of his men fled the fight after the first exchange. Tecumseh stayed and found but died on the battlefield. The Americans were victorious.

Fought on a farmer’s field between Morrisburg and Cornwall, Ont, along the shores of the St. Lawrence River. The Battle of Crysler’s Farm was the Americans’ last attempt at capturing Montréal, and it was considered by many to be a disastrous defeat for their army.

The Battle of Chippawa
Major-General Jacob Brown’s Left Division of the US Army was sent into the Niagara Peninsula, where it would meet the American Lake Ontario squadron and then raid Burlington Bay, York or Kingston. For the first time in the war, American regulars had defeated an equally sized British force in an open battle.
