  • USS Consitution defeats the HMS Guerriere

    The fight was a 2 ship battle in which the USS Constitution defeated the HMS Guerriere. This fight was shortly after the war had begun. This was an important victory for the Americans because it lifted their moral. It also showed that they could once again put up with the worlds best fighting force.
  • Attack on York

    They Americans attack the Candian capitol of York. They did this after defeating the British in combat that allowed them to gain entrance into the city. Once in the city the Americans decided to burn it down witch later was a move that they probably would regret. After burning the city the Americans Fled.

    They battle of lake Erie was won by the Americans. 9 American ships fought 6 of Englands ships. the Americans Succesfully captured all 6 ships and therfore won the battle. This was one of the bigest naval battles of the war.

    Tecumseh was a Shawnee indian tribe leader. He fought against the americans in the war of 1812. He did this because he had bad experience with americans and he also thought they were taking over his tribes land. he died during the battle of thames and is one of the most famous Native Americans.

    Washington Dc was burned to the ground by the british. they did this as a act of revenge because the americans had burned down the canadian capitol of york. During the burning there was a hurrican which then turned into a tornado and that stoped some buildings from burning and killed many british.

    Thomas Macdonough leads the Americans to victory at the battle of Lake Champlain. This was a big battle because it was near the end of the war and it helped secure the win of the war for the Americans. It also stoped the British from gaining any territory in the war

    Francis Scott Key wasd cught in the middle of the battle for Fort Mchenry. He was in the middle of the battle because he was doing British prisoner exchange. He watched the British attack us and he wrote the begining National Anthem and on September 20 1814 it wasd published. it then became the National Anthem in 1916.

    Major Geoerge Armistead was the major at the battl of Baltimore. This was one of the most important battles in the war of 1812. The Americans were bombed all trough the night by russian ships and when morning came the Americans flag was still raised and Major George Armistead and his men were susesfull.

    This treaty was the treaty that ended the war of 1812. Altough it ended the war it never did adress the impresment issues between the United Staes and England. that is one of the main reasons that they went to war and the issue was never solved in the treaty. ther was still the battle of New Orleans after this treaty was signed although it marked the end of the war.

    The battle of Neworleans was the last battle in the war of 1812. it was actually fought after the treaty of Ghent was sighned but the news did not reach either side untill after the battle. The British suffered nearly 2000 deaths and the Americans suffered only 13.
  • Jean Lafitte

    Jean Lafitte was a pirate who was in jail in New Orleans. He would be freed from jail if he fought for the Americans in the battle of New Orleans. He decided to fight in the battle and was freed from jail and helped the Americans win the Battle of New Orleans.
