The Battle of Queenston Heights was the first major battle in the war of 1812, and the British won. Isaac Brock was killed in this war. Queenston is now the present-day province of Ontario. -

The Americans start to attack York (which is now Toronto) . But by attacking York, about 250 Americans are killed by the British. -
Secord Shows Courage.
Laura Secord shows a lot of courage and bravery by warning the British and First Nations about Americans attacking Beaver Dams, British defat the Americans. -
Techumseh Dies.
The battle in Moraviantown is when Shawnee Techumseh dies. This is because the British reatreat, leaving the First Nations to face the Americans alone. -
Capturing Fort Niagra.
The capture of Fort Niagra took place in late 1813 between Britain and United States. -
The Bloodiest Battle.
This battle was the bloodiest battle fought. It was fought at a place called Lundy Lane, which is near Niagra Falls. About 640 British and Canadiens die and 740 Americans are killed. -
British Burn Buildings.
British start to invade Washington. They burn down the White House and many other buildings. Did you know that the White House is called the White House because when it was burned down, they had to rebuild it and hasd to whitewash the walls to cover up the burned parts. -
The Treaty of Ghent.
The Treaty of Ghent is signed by the British and the Americans which ends the War of 1812. -
The Last Battle,
The Battle of New Orleans was the final major battle of the war of 1812. The Americans defeated Britain in the Battle of New Orleans.
