Can only vote if you are a white male and own a property.

Last Religious requirement for voting was eliminated.

Property requirement dropped

You didnt have to own a property to vote so most white males could vote.

15th Amendment

Mar 7, 1867

The 15th Amendment gave former slaves the right to vote and it also protects any males right to vote.

19th Amendment

Mar 7, 1920

The 19th Amendment allows women to vote.

23rd Amendment

Mar 7, 1961

The 23rd Amendment made it so the voters of Washington DC could participate in the presidential elections.

24th Amendment

Mar 8, 1964

The 24th Amendment make is so you dont have to pay to vote.

Voting Rights Act of 1965

Mar 8, 1965

The Voting Rights Act gave rights to minority voters and it got rid of the literacy test. The act was changes a couple of times years later.

26th Amendment

Mar 8, 1971

Minimum voting age changed to 18.
