The 15th amendment stated that no voting rights should be infringed because of the person's color or race. The 15th amendment was another step in African Americans gaining rights. And making sure those rights stayed protected. -

The 15th amendment states that you cannot deny someone the right to vote off race. literacy tests were able to be opted out of if your grandpa voted. Which meant illiterate African Americans couldn't vote but whites could. The Case decided it was unconstitutional and banned literacy tests. -
