Voting Rights in the United States

    Only the rich, white, and property owners could vote
  • Religious qualifications dropped

    now people could vote no matter what their religious views were
  • Property requirements dropped

    You didnt need to be rich anymore to vote so almost all white males could vote.

    It gave former slaves the right to vote and it protected the voting rights of adult males of any race
  • 19th Amendment

    It gave women the right to vote
  • 23rd Amendment

    It gave the district of Columbia the right to participate in presidental elections.
  • 24th Amendment

    they made it where their was no poll tax to vote so anyone could vote rather they had money or not
  • Voting Rights Act of 1965

    It protected the voting right of minority voters and eliminated all barriers.
  • 26th Amendment

    Set the minimum voting age to 18 so anyone over the age of 18 would be able to vote
