Gave the general assembly the ability to make laws and appoint all state executives and judges. The 1776 constitution was important to voting because created the general assembly to which we vote today. Back then we couldn't vote for governor or judges but we learned that made governments corrupt.

    Jim Crow laws were a collection of systems and laws put in place to legalize racial segregation. They were primarily used to stop African Americans to vote, getting an education, having jobs, and other natural-born rights. The most important impact Jim Crow Laws had was they took away African Americans' right to vote for well over 50 years. They hindered all the progress of African Americans' suffrage. The laws pushed out US corrupt system to the limit.

    The 19th Amendment is the women’s right to vote. After it was ratified for the first time 8 million women voted in the USA. The major importance of this amendment was that now everyone could vote; this did not mean everyone was equal yet. Another importance was the unity everyone had. African Americans helped women get the right to vote because they know how it feels.

    The Indian citizenship act gave all Native Americans the right to vote. At the time many were still denied voting rights by the individual state or local laws. The most significant aspect of this act was that no one was discriminated against on the basis of gender, skin color, or heritage anymore. Although it seemed like everything was equal many obstacles were still faced like the poll tax and literacy tests.

    The 24th Amendment was important because it ended the poll tax. Before the 24th amendment was proposed citizens in some states had to pay a fee to vote in an election. The 24th amendment was also important to the Civil Rights Movement being that it got rid of poll taxes that prevented many African Americans from voting. As successful as the 24th amendment was Virginia, Alabama, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi still had poll taxes.

    The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was a law created that prevented racial discrimination in voting. This act was created to enforce the Fifteenth Amendment of the Constitution. The act prevents state and local governments from enforcing requirements that target racial groups. These requirements are things such as literacy tests and other devices that have been used in history to not include racial groups.

This was a significant historical event because it allowed more people to vote. This allowed people of the age of 18 to sign up to be registered to vote.
