15th Admendment
granted African American men the right to vote by declaring that the "right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude." -
19th Admendment
prohibits any United States citizen from being denied the right to vote on the basis of sex. The 15th amendment made it illegal for the federal or state government to deny any US citizen the right to vote. For some reason, this did not apply to women. The 19th amendment changed this by making it illegal for any citizen, regardless of gender, to be denied the right to vote. -
23rd Admendment
gave DC residents a number of presidential electors (3) equal to those of the least populous state. The Electoral College, as designed in 1787, grants votes only to states. -
24th Admendment
The 24th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America abolished the poll tax for all federal elections. -
