ADVICE FROM GALE
When Katniss is in the Justice Building, waiting to be taken away, Gale comes and visits her and offers her words of advice. Gale gives her a hug, making her feel safe. Then he tells her to get her hands on a bow because it's her best chance for a weapon. Even though Katniss was feeling tense and somewhat shocked, Gale kept her head up and was a great help. -
CINNA LOOKING OUT FOR KATNISS
As Katniss prepares for her interview, she has some alone time with her stylist, Cinna. Cinna can see that Katniss is very nervous and tells her just to be herself. He tells her to pretend that the interview is just a conversation with a friend. Then he tells her to look at him and answer the question she is asked. Katniss has high hopes this will work and is very grateful of the advice. -
HAYMITCH GIVES ADVICE
As Haymitch's last words of advice, he tells both Katniss and Peeta to get out of the Cornucopia right away and to clear out and put as much distance between themselves and the others, and, lastly, find a source of water. This may seem like small advice, but in the end, it took them all the way. Both Katniss and Peeta appreciated this because it came from Haymitch, the man they thought was their last hope on survival tips. -
OINTMENT FROM SPONSOR
When Katniss recieves the silver parachute attached to a small pot with ointment for her burn, she is very happy and grateful that Haymitch did that for her. She doesn't feel abandoned and knows that it must've taken not one, but many sponsors to get the ointment. This helps the burn a lot, which can be very good for her and any other burns she gets. -
TRACKER JACKER NEST (PART 2)
cut the branch holding the nest and drop it on the pack of Career Tributes. During the nightly anthem, she climbs up to the limb with the nest and does just that. Before Katniss can get the branch totally sawed off, the anthem ends. She decides to finish the branch off, and drop the nest, in the morning. -
TRACKER JACKER NEST (PART 1)
While Katniss is stuck up in a tree guarded by the Careers down below on the ground, she is suddenly surprised when she sees Rue. Rue points out a tracker jacker nest right above Katniss' head! Tracker Jackers are mutant killer wasps engineered by the Capitol. A few stings make you hallucinate like crazy; more than a few stings and you're dead. Even if you run, these things will track you down, which is why Rue saved Katniss from possibly dying if she hadn't noticed it. Katniss then decides to -
PEETA SAVES KATNISS (PART 2)
to get the bows, and she spots Peeta and the rest of the tributes. Peeta screams at Katniss to run, and so she does. After that, Katniss believed he saved her life. -
PEETA SAVES KATNISS (PART 1)
In the arena, Katniss found a tracker jacker nest above her in the tree she is in and has a plan to cut off the branch holding the nest, which will land on some tributes on the ground below her. She does so, and after that, chaos strikes and the tributes run to the nearest lake. Once Katniss has reached the ground, another tribute, Glimmer, has had too many stings and is soon to die. HAVING AN ALLIANCE WITH RUE
As Katniss is recovering from her few tracker jacker stings, she decides to get some food and water. In the woods, she hears a twig snap, but realizes it's just Rue. Rue and Katniss team up and Katniss gives Rue some food while Rue helps Katniss with her burns and stings. Their alliance brings them far, and without it, they both might not have survived. -

Claudius Templesmith, the announcer, invites all tributes to a feast. He says that there will be something at the feast that each of the tributes need in a book bag marked with their district's number. Peeta immediately says that Katniss is not going. Katniss objects and the two fight. Peeta says he'll follow her if she goes. Katniss knows he's stubborn enough to do it. Katniss then finds a parachute outside with sleep syrup in it. PEETA HELPS KATNISS
At the feast, Katniss is sliced in the forehead with a knife and later when she is back at the cave, Katniss blacks out. When she wakes up, she finds Peeta nursing her and taking very good care of her! He helps her eat, drink, and makes sure she gets enough sleep. -
ROMANCE WORKED AFTER ALL
As both Katniss and Peeta are tired and very hungry, they depend on their romance together as a way to get more sponsors, which means they could recieve a gift. After kissing all the time, and making the romance very real between them, they finally get what they want! A tureen of lamb stew and rice! That definetely helped them both from starving.
