Birthday
Born at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. I was a little under 3 weeks premature. I ended up having to stay in the hospital for 2/3 days because I had jaundice. -
Inspiration!
I was in kindergarten on a field trip to watch a play. The play I went to watch was "Charlotte Web." -
Graduation!
I graduated from both high school and got my high school diploma. -
Into College for Bachelors Degree
I went to ASU to get my bachelor's in set design. While looking for work as a beginner set designer. -
First Job as a Set Designer!
I found a job as an assistant set designer at ASU Theatre. -
First Try!
The first play I worked on was called "Jagged Little Pill" which was a musical created by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus. -
Second Try!
The second musical I helped set design for was called "MJ The Musical," which was created by Christopher Wheeldon. -
After The Two Muscials
After I was finished doing set design for the two Musicals I passed out due to all the built-up stress. -
Went to the Hospital
I went to the hospital because I hit my head. One of my friends drove me. I ended up figuring out I have high blood pressure. -
Break?
I decided to rest until June came along to make sure I didn't overwork myself, but I still went to watch one of the plays I couldn't work on. -
Went Back to Working
I decided a few months was a good amount of rest, so I decided to take on the musical "Peter Pan," which was fun to work on. -
Finished Two Years of College
I got my AA degree after putting in the effort! -
Finished Four Years of College
I got my Bachelor's degree in Set Design. -
Spotlight!
I was scouted by Lin Manuel Miranda. To help him come up with another Musical about a historical event. -
Brainstorming
The crew Miranda got together and started to brainstorm ideas about historical events. The group narrowed it down to two ideas: the "Underground Railroad" and the "Women's Rights Movement." -
Decision-Time
The entire crew had to decide whether or not we would do one or the other, but no one wanted to pick just one, so we all decided to spin a wheel and it ended up on the "Underground Railroad" -
Completed the Underground Railroad Preparations
It took some time, but we completed the script and hired actors. The play would mainly surround Harriet Tubman. The play ended up being a big success. It took six years to create, and two years to find the best actors for the roles. -
A Big Success!
The musical was just as popular or superior to the Hamilton musical. The musical ended up winning the Best Musical Theatre Album Grammy just like Hamilton. -
Retirement!!!
I was able to retire at the age of 62 successfully. -
Death Date
I died on my 100th birthday at 11 pm.
