Beginning of Americanization of German Immigrants
I wonder how the country would be today if the German immigrants had been allowed to keep their language in public schools and hadn't assimilated like they did. How would my job as a German teacher be different? Would it be be similar to Canada and Quebec? I wonder... Date is not specific - references list simply "the 1720s". First Publishing of Cato's Letters

Founding of the AFT
The American Federation of Teachers is founded. Working to protect the rights and pay of teachers across the country, the AFT played a large role in my life growing up. My mom, a single parent raising two sons, often relied on the protecting of the AFT in order to earn enough money to raise two kids in a safe and healthy environment.
