    An important event in the Texas Revolution. It was a thirteen-day job in San Antonio that began the battle on February 23, 1836, and ended on March 6, 1836. They brought down Santa Anna and created independence for Texas from Mexico.
  • Sam Houston elected President

    Houston became the first ever President of the Republic of Texas.
  • US Saw Texas Independent State

    The United States recognized that Texas had independence from Mexico.
  • Mirabeau B. Lamar elected to rule the Republic of Texas

    Mirabeau B. Lamar elected to rule the Republic of Texas
    Lamar was the second President of the Republic of Texas. He is known for fighting in wars against the Cherokee and Comanche people out of Texas and created a fund to support public education.
  • Battle Of Neches

    This is the main event of the Cherokee War of 1838-1839. This occurred during the Cordova Rebellion, and President Lamar decided to remove the Cherokee people from Texas.

    Battle of Plum Creek
    A clash between allied Tonkawa, militia, and the Rangers of the Republic of Texas. A war party from Comanche, under Chief Buffalo Hump, took charge of the battle in Lockhart, Texas, on August 12, 1840. This always brought about the Great Raid of 1840 from the Comanche war party that came back to west Texas

    Houston was re-elected to become the President of the Republic of Texas.
  • Mier Expedition

    Mier Expedition
    A failed military operation by the Texian militia against Mexican border settlements. It was a significant battle at Ciudad Mier, and the Mexicans won. This attack was launched to regain vengeance for what happened at Dawson Massacre (the Mexican army killed 36 Texas militia).

    Naval Battle of Campeche
    The battle showed off the most advanced warship of its day. The war was between Mexico and the Republic of Texas (allied with the Republic of Yucatan). Even though Texas had declared its independence, Mexico refused to acknowledge it. Mexico lost, and victory was the Republic of Texas and Yucatan.

    Texas annexation the Republic of Texas and joined with the United States of America. It was admitted to the Union on the 28th State.
