    Lincoln was elected in a time of need for a great president. The country was on verge of a civil war. Lincoln showed great leadership building the Union into a strong country. He aslo issued the Emancipation Proclomation which freed the slaves. Lincoln made the Rebuplican party very strong.
  • Johnson

    Johnson was president during the reconstruction of the U.S. His plan failed to include the rights of the freedman, he became under vigorious politcal attack. He was later impeached as U.S. president
  • Cleveland

    Cleveland
    Cleveland was the leader of pro business, he opposed high tariffs free sliver, inflation, and imperialism. Cleveland was an American icon during the conservative era. His democratic party was destroyed by the panic of 1893.
  • McKinley

    McKinley
    McKinley led the nation to a victory in the Spanish American war. McKinley maintained the nation on the gold standard by rejecting inflationary Proposals. He was assassinated in Sempter of 1901.
  • Roosevelt

    Roosevelt was the leader of the progressive movement and the Republican party. Roosevelt aslo came up with the Square Deal. He also promoted the conservation movement
  • Taft

    Taft's agenda was to emphasize trust busting, civil service reform, and strengthing the ICC. Taft sought out to strength economic development of latin nations. He passed the 16th amendment.
  • Wilson

    Wilson
    Wilson persuaded congress to pass major progressive reforms such as Federal Reserve Act and Federal Trade commission Act. Wilson asked congress to delcare war in 1917. He began the fisrt draft for soldiers since the civil war.
  • Harding

    Scandals and corroputions ruled Harding's administration such as the Teapot Dome Scandal. Harding formally ended WWI by signing peace treaties with Germany and Austria. Harding also signed the first child welfare program.
  • Coolidge

    Coolidge
    Coolidge restored public confidence back in the white house. He signed the Immigration Act that rrestricted the amount of immigrants that were allowed to come to the U.S. Coolidge also signed into law the Revenue Act of 1924.
  • Hoover

    When the great deppression hit Hoover tried to stop with volunteer efforts. Taxs became the highest in American history when Hoover was in office. Hoover aslo urged congress to investigate the New York Stock Exchange.
