  • Jamestown

    In May of 1607 colonitsts from England landing in Virginia and made a settlement named Jamestown which was one of the first big settlements in the US.

    Nathaniel Bacon led a revolt against officials in Jamestwon for not focusing on Indians and it led to Berkley fleeing and it was one of the first significant rebellions.
  • Great Awakening

    This awkening was led by preachers like Jonathan Edwards and created a focus on the church and an increase in puritan ideals that was the first big religious movement in the colonies
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    British colonies and the British fought the French and indians that led to the taxation of the colonists by the British.
  • Pontiac's rebellion

    Natvie American rebellion led by Pontiac against the colonies after policies were passed that didn't favor the natives. This was one of the first native american rebellions.

    The sugar and stamp acts put a tax on sugar and legal documents. This fueled some of the first revolutionary thoughts.

    The declaratory act was made by England to say that they were still the rulers of the colonists and that the colonists had to do what they said.

    The twonshend act was a set of rules that were meant to make Britain more money. This led to more of the acts being passed.

    The boston tea party was one of the first major colonists protest against England to protest the Tea Act and it was passed in order to help the Brititish-Indian tea company.

    The coercive act was passed to punish the colonists for the boston tea party. This showed the colonists that the British were still in control.

    The american revolution was the war between the British and colonists that led to Americans being seperate from England.

    This was a document written by thomas jefferson and said that we were going to become idependent from England.

    This was a turning point in the American Revolution because it marked when the Americans truly had a chance to become independent.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    This was the last battle of the revolution and led to the surrender of the British and the overall freedom of the colonists.

    This was the treaty that was passed at the end of the revolution to settle what everyone would be rewared or lost

    This was passed to set new boundaries and to enforce new areas where the colonist could settle.
  • Shay's Rebellion

    This was a rebellion by rural people to protest certain laws passed by the government, but it was put down by George Washington.

    This was when the Consituiton was finally passed and formed our first successful government system.

    This was a rebellion fought over the tax on whiskey by the US government that many people wanted to be overturned

    This was a demand made of Monroe that said nobody could settle in the US and other areas in the Americas

    This was when Andrew Jackson was elected president and it was significant because he was considered to be a representative of the common man.
