By 1680, nearly a century after the colony was established, there were fewer than 3000 Spanish inhabitants in the entire province. Spanish intolerance of Pueblo religious practices and a abuse of Indian labor encouraged many rebellions against the Spanish. Pueblo leaders began to get rid of Christianity and Spanish material culture. -

Mountain Men Cross the Rockies
Traders seeked valuable fur from beavers. Most mountain men worked for large trapping companies that paid for their supplies. These men also traded with Mexicans. -
Oregon Trails
Marcus and Narcissa Whitman followed this trail to found an indian mission. They were killed supposedly killed by native americans. Oregon trails was very popular after this.
