French and Indian War
A result of the French causing repeated conflicts in the Ohio River valley (in the New World). Native Americans were also involved in the war, mostly being on the French side. -

A plan Benjamin Franklin proposed to combine the colonies under a national congress. -
Proclamation of 1763
Forced British colonists to move East of the Appalachian Mountains (they could NOT go West, because the Natives were there) -
Sugar Act
Reduced the tax rate on Molasses from 6 pence to 3 pence. ...Why were the colonists angry about this again? It's a lower price! -
Stamp Act
Taxed printed goods (playing cards, documents, newspapers, etc) -
Quartering Act
Forced colonists to take care of British soldiers in their home by supplying them with food, drinks, etc. -
Townshend Acts
Taxed goods imported to the New World.
Troops were sent to America in order to enforce these laws, but this caused even more conflict between the Colonists and the British. -
Boston Massacre
It was a snowball fight at first, but later one of the British troops fired a bullet. Five colonists died, and two British troops were proven guilty for doing so thanks to John Adams. -
Boston Tea Party
Angry Colonists dressed up as Native Americans and dumped tea into the sea, costing the tea company $4 million. -
Intolerable / Coercive acts
Laws that punished the colonists for the Boston Tea Party; The colonists called them "Intolerale" -
1st Continental Congress
Delegates from twelve colonies (Georgia didn't do this) sent representatives to Philadelphia to discuss a response to the Intolerable Acts.
They later sent the Olive Branch Petition to the King. -
