    With the US pushing to Mexico City, Mexico agreed to discuss peace. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo describe how the US would keep Texas and buy California, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona and Wyoming for $15 million and Mexico's debt

    The Battle of Fort Sumter
    On April 12, 1861 around 500 Newly Confederate troops surrounded around 40 Union troops at Fort Sumter. Though no life was lost the capture of the fort was viewed as start of the American Civil War.

    As the US reaches its third year in the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln declare the Emancipation Proclamation. Emancipation Proclamation granted all slaves in the CSA recognized freedom.

    On April 15, 1865 John Wilkes Booth killed President Abraham Lincoln. Booth killed Lincoln due to his belief that Lincoln was a tyrant and Booths confederate sympathies.
