News published in U.S. on March 1. This was a telegram sent by German Foreign Minister Arthur Zimmermann to his minister in Mexico. This telegram was written to inform him that unrestricted submarine warfare would soon resume. -

Japanese surprise attacked the Us's naval base and managed to destroy almost 20 American vessels, battleships, and airplanes. -

This was the day during WWI which allied forces (consisting of nearly 156,000 American, British, and Canadians) came into and invaded northern France from the beaches in Normandy. -

This was one out of two major atomic bombings during WWI dropped by the United States over the Japanese cities. -

Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus in Alabama. She was later arrested for this act. -

The Cuban Missile Crisis
US and Soviet Union leaders had an intense political debate that lasted 13 days over the use of nuclear-armed Soviet missiles on Cuba that was close to US shores. After this action was eventually taken, people feared that this would bring on a disastrous nuclear war. -
JFK’s Assassination
John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas while in a convertible. Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots from a nearby building which badly wounded, and eventually killed JFK. -
The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution
Congress passed on August 7, 1964, Effective August 10, 1964
Congress passed this which authorized President Johnson to do anything he deemed necessary, to retaliate the maintenance of international peace and security in southeast Asia.

This was a suicide attack carried out by Islamic terrorists where they hijacked four planes and flew them into the twin towers as well as the Pentagon outside of Washington, D.C.
