The Nat Turner Rebellion
The Nate Turner’s Rebellion was a slave revolt led by an enslaved preacher named Nat Turner in Southampton country, Virginia. This resulted in around 55 deaths of white people, fear of slave revolts and stricter laws against enslaved people. It also ended with Nat Turner getting captured and execution. -
Fugitive slave act of 1850
The Fugitive slave act was september 18, 1850. The Fugitive slave act was part of the compromise of 1850. This act involved slaves being returned to their owners even if they were in a free state. The federal government was responsible for finding, returning and trying escaped slaves. This act was not just in 1850 but what makes it different from earlier centuries was that in 1850 they added more provision regarding runaway and levied even harsher punishments. -
Bleeding kansas
It was about Kansas engaged in violent guerrilla war between pro slavery and anti- slavery forces it into an event we know as bleeding Kansas. Due to the violence there were about 55 people killed during the bleeding of Kansas. This event caused the Kansas Nebraska act in 1854. -
Kansas Nebraska act
The Kansas Nebraska act repealed the Missouri compromise which created two new territories and allowed for popular sovereignty. This was drafted by Democratic senator Stephen A. Douglas then was passed by the 33rd U.S congress and signed into law by president Franklin Pierce. -
Dred scott decision
Scott was a slave but had lived in free states and moved to slave state.The discussion was about weather Scott free of a slave.Back then the rule was that enslaved people including Scott were not citizens and could not sue federal court and the congress lacked the power to ban slavery in U.S. territories.He was an African american and had no right to sue for freedom in federal court, so he was upholding enslaved status. -
John Brown's raid
Brown and a group of his supporters left for town and arrived October 17th.They captured citizens and seized the federal armory.Brown had hoped that the local slaves would join in the raid to fight for their freedom.That did not matter the success was low because later that afternoon Us marines under colonel Robert Lee arrived and stormed into the engine house they were in and killed many raiders and captured brown.Brown was put to trial and sentenced to death for his crimes on Dec 2, 1859. -

On november 6 1860.Abraham Lincoln was elected as President of the United States in 1860 and again in 1864. These elections took place just before and during the American Civil War. They significantly shaped the future of the U.S. by heralding the end of slavery, a period marked by unprecedented violence in the nation. -
Formation of the confederacy
Formation of the confederacy was found on February 8 1861, by south carolina, mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Geoga, Louisiana and texas. They all adopted a new constitution establishing a confederation government of “ sovereign and independent states”. The confederacy was to preserve the institution of slavery and the southern way of life.I was the outbreak of the civil war. -

The civil war was a conflict between the U.S.( the union) and the confederate states of america(the south ). The war started primarily from disagreements over slavery and states rights. But the war ultimately ended with the union victory and abolition of slavery.
