  • Spanish American War

    The war began in 1898 when the United States intervened in the conflict regarding Spain and their rule over Cuba. Cuba had launched a revolution against Spain and the United States sympathized with the Cubans and had been urged to intervene.
  • United States Enters World War 1

    United States Enters World War 1
    Archduke Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated. Serbian government mobilize their army with the assistance of Russia. Following this Belgium, France, Great Britain and Serbia fought against Austria-Hungary and Germany this marking the start of World War I. Germany announced unrestricted warfare in war-zone waters. Thus causing the US to diplomatic relations with Germany. 3 days later the American liner Housatonic was sunk, months later the US declared war on Germany.

    How hitler became powerful it took over decades for him to become in power but when he became politically involved with the nazi party. He was a very persuasive speaker that tried to persuade people to join his side. In 1928 the nazi party only had 12 seats then in 1932 the party rose and had 230 seats. In the late 1930s hitler pretty much ruled the nazi party and was the man of power.

    The United States was officially forced into war after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941. The U.S. and Great Britain declared war on Japan the next day, and Italy and Germany declared war on the U.S.

    June 6th 1944 over 160,000 allied troops went to the 50 mile long on the French soil normandy beach to fight the nazi germans. More than 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircraft supported dday on that day. D-day required for than 2 years of planning Also named Normandy landings.

    Both countries had weapons of mass destruction and neither of them wanted boots on the ground, which resulted in the term of the cold war. President Truman introduced the Truman Doctrine, allowing the United States to aid and support countries threatened by communism. This allowed the United States to stop the spread of communism without putting boots in Europe.

    On June 25, 1950, North Korea invaded South Korea. North Korea was supported by the Soviet Union and had communist ideology whereas South Korea was supported by the U.S. and was a more western republic.

    Vietnam was a long and costly war, that many Americans didn't want to be in. It started when the communist state of North Vietnam invade the democratic state and allied of the United States South Vietnam. With the support of Soviet Union and China the North Vietnam was able suppress the United States forcing them out of the War. Which allowed the North to invade and take over the South in 1975

    On september 11 2001 a plane struck the twin towers in New York at 8:38 am. The American citizens had no idea this was coming and it was one of the most deadliest attacks on u.s soil. This is one of the most well known acts of terror it is a grieving day for everybody in America on September 11.
