More Information The Pennsylvania representatives were against alowing slavery to lands that were ceceding from Mexico. Wilmot introduced legistlation that said, "neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall ever exist" in lands won in the Mexican-American War. when northern lawmakers reffered to southern colleges, "Slave Power" came from their lips. -

More Information 1) California is admitted a free state. 2) New Mexico and Utah are organized as territories. Free states wanted them free,but slave states wanted them slave states. 3) Texas reduced in size and in return US took away their debt. 4) Slave trade in District of Columbia is banned, but still had slaves. 5) Fugitive Slave Act passed. -

More Information Dred scott was a slave but moved to Illinios(free state). This case was called Dred Scott vs. Stanford. Scott went to the Supreme Court in hopes of being granted his freedom. The court didn't do anything for Scott was not a citizen. -
