  • Proclamation of 1763

    This proclamation did not allow colonists to sttle west of the Appalation mountains. The British government feared thr conflict between colonists and Native Americans would lead to another war. They also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western lands. Colonists were enraged by this proclamation because they felt they had won the right to settle in the Ohio River Valley after winning the French and Indian war.

  • Stamp act

    The stamp act is that all documents must carry an official stamp, The stamp shows the tax has been paid. Also the act were on all colonists not just merchants.
  • Townshed act

    The townshed act is when they put tax on glass, paint, lead, tea, and other goods. And the British use writs of assistance to enforce acts. They did it to raise revenue.
  • Boston tea party

    in 1773 they thew tea over in the Boston tea party. Parlement reapeals the boston tea party is the protest against the tea act. So the sons of liberty orginized the boston tea party.
  • Intolerable acts

    Close ports of Boston until colonist pay for destroyed tea. Ban the commities or correspondence. Allow British army into house.
  • Lexington and concord

    British troops march 18 to Concord and destroy supplies. British troops reach lexington and meet 70 malitia men. The fight began and 8 malitia men died in a shot heard around the world.
  • Olive branch patition

    John Dickinson drafted the olive branch patition. it was made to asset the rights of the colonists while maintaining their loyalty to the British crown. and george washington did not read the patition and still rebeled
  • declaration of indipendance

    The declaration of indipendance was adopted by the continental congress. And was made to create indipendance for the colonists. And the king did not like that and started the revolutinary war
