“School is typically the largest and most important institution with which young people are involved, and it is a primary context for their development." (Pg 6) School can impact your health in a lot of ways ,some ways can be microcontexts ( hallway, cafeteria etc.) for example if you see someone getting bullied in the hallway, that might effect your mood or something. And can influence maybe to do the sameness thing. -
Community
“The communities in which young people live can also have important influences on their development, for good or ill.”(Pg 7) If you live in a neighborhood were kids are always outside making bad decisions like alcohol, drugs etc. Can bring you to them fast. You never know there maybe people that live right next Door that will persuade you to do drugs in a couple months. -
Media and Technology
“Among the environmental influences that affect teenagers’ development, perhaps the most difficult to study is the wide, fast-evolving array of media and technologies that are part of their lives." (Pg 8) a great example for this is cyber bulling. When you get bullied threw social media, that can lead you to taking bad decisions in life. -
Personal life
In school there are always fights. One time there was a fight that happened literally in front of me with like one foot of a distance. I didn't know what to do, with all the adrenaline in my body. Someone came and broke them up. After that I decided in my head that I would never let anyone talk about me ever. And on from then on I was a lot more braver than ever.
