    This was the beginning of one of the most popular tournaments in the world. It brought in an abundant amount of money for the first time and advertising across Europe.

    The Champions League anthem was written in 1992 and is still used today. It is broadcaste all over television before each game and in the sporting venue.
    The orchestra that performed this will recieve royalties as long as the song is used, the same goes for the author. Famous singers have performed the song before some of the finals, so they porbably recieve a hefty amount of money as well.

    Now it allowed it's entrants from more countries and this allowed ,ore growth and finances to brought into the tournament.

    This UCL final was played in Instanbul, Turkey; between Liverpool Football Club of England and AC Milan of Italy. Milan were ahead by three goals at halftime, it was bleak at best. Liverpool scored three goals in six minutes. LFC went on to win the CL for the 5th time.
    LFC definitely were able to make money off of the victory from club sales, money from the tournament, and many other things. They were also allowed to keep the trophy which attracts fans from all over the globe.

    For the 2012-13 final, the winners were awarded 10.5 million euros. The finalists recieve 6.5 million euros (the club recieves the money not the players).
    The money given to the clubs can be used for many things: new sponsorship deals or player transfers. With the transfers the players bought can be used to market new team apparrel.

    In Turkey, betting advertisements are banned. When Real Madrid played Galatasaray in Instanbul, Madrid were forced to remove their sponsor, bwin, from their uniforms. This is because it infringed their laws against advertisements.
    This would cause bwin to lose money because the lack of advertising. Not only this, but Real Madrid could lose money because bwin would refuse to give money based on this match.

    Final
    This was the most wide Champions League final (Borussia Dortmund versus Bayern Munich) to date, as well as the most watched annual sporting event worldwide in 2013. It drew over 360 million viewers in television alone.
    This would draw loads of money for all the sponsors of the tournament and give a large amount of money to the participating clubs (Dortmund and Munich).

    On October 31st, 2013, Heineken renewed their sponsorship deal with UEFA for the UCL.
    This is one of the best ways to advertise for Heineken because of the millions of viewers each year. Even the money the pay to UEFA, they definitely make the money back at the end of the year.

    Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid 4-1 in extra time in Lisbon, Portugal. This was special because Real Madrid had won the prize 10 times, which means they keep two trophies now.
    This victory will draw many big name players to the club. Players like James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos, and more have been interested with the club.

    The most expensive tickets for this past year's final were over 400 Euros (best seats in stadium). So many people wanted to attend the game that the clubs were forced to raffle the tickets off to be fair.
    This gave high amounts of money to the clubs participating as well as UEFA. Not to mention the fact that people all over the world were paying to watch a game filled with sponsorships (most notably: Playstation)
