Apollo 11 landing on the moon
Apollo 11 was the first space flight that landed men on the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first man to step foot on the moon from Apollo 11. He walked on the moon for about two and a half hours. This is a mile stone in US History as it changes space flight into a new frontier. -
Mount St. Helens Erupting
On May 18,1980, Mount St. Helens, a volcano in the state of Washington, erupted. The eruption was preceded by two months of ongoing earthquakes. Prior to the eruption, scientist closed MOunt St. Helens to the public. This saved over one thousand lives. This was the only eruption in the contiguous forty-eight states since 1915. -

Terrorist Attack
On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four US airliners and carried out suicidal missions. Two planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York. A third plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, DC and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. This event brought the citizens of the United States closer and led to National Security.
