The guilded age was in effect. The mass production of steel was in order and it made the production of skyscrapers and econimic growth. Itintroduced the mafias and robber barons. -

This was the age in wich the panama canal was built connecting the atlantic ocean to the pacific. This also was when the great white fleet was braught about. The spanish american war was going on and ended up giving us hawaii. -
WW1
This was the war of many firsts like the machine gun and poisoness gasses. This was when the Lusitania was sunk by a german submarine in 1915 that ended up involving america in WW1. It was the allies VS the central powers, the allies being france, great brittain, and russia and the central powers being germany, hungary, and austria. The war ended when woodrow wilson made his speach and the treaty of versailles was signed. -
Roaring 20's
Also known as the jazz age the roaring twenties was a time of prosperity. People had extra money to spend and the econimy was better than ever. In this era the mobs were introduced as the the govermant band alchoal it gave them a reason to be there and to bootleg. The flappers were also introduced. They were groups of women wereing short clothing and overwelming fashion police. This was also a time of womens sufferage were the women gained the right to vote and hold in office. -
Great Depression
This was time of the stock market crash where in 1920 you can become rich over night but in 29' you could loose everything.unimployment rate was through the roof. to keep the people the govermment made hoovervilles wich were shanty little villages on the oustskirts of major cities. due to overfarming the great plains turned into the dust bowl wich made it hard for people to live there. -
WW2
This war was between Germany, Japan, Italy and the allies’ Great Britain, France the soviet union, and America. America had joined the war December 8th 1941 when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor the day before. Another name for the war was the two faced war and the civilians that had the war right next to them called it the war at home. -
Pearl Harbor
On December 7th 1941 japan bombed the american fleet in Hawaii. One day lator we declared war on japan. -
Cold War
In the cold war there were superpowers with the countries. America had capitalism and Russia had communism. America had the fear that if one state fell to communism then others would follow also known as the domino effect. Something else we argued was who got to go into space and where. The most important part of the war was when the Soviet Union and Cuba threaten to nuke us. -
Korean War
When 75,000 North Korean troops flowed into south Korea. America joined because of the fear they had that communism would have a rise if they did not help. The war ended in 2853. -
Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was a war almost like the Korean War and like the Korean war it was caused by a communist. Soon after 500,000 U.S. personnel were involved. -
Gulf war
Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion of Kuwait when other neighboring countries urged western countries to intervene and that is when operation desert storm took place and drove the Iraqis to surrender or flee. -
9/11
